Lois N. Branson, age 88, of Linn, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at Autumn Meadows Skilled Care Facility in Linn. Lois was born February 9, 1921 in Deer, Mo., a daughter to the late William and Elsie (Boyce) Herndon. Lois was a graduate of Linn R-2 High School. She was a homemaker and had also worked as an assistant school teacher. On May 18, 1946, Lois was united in marriage to Victor T. Branson. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1992. Lois enjoyed gardening and sewing and was a member of the Oklahoma Church of Christ. Survivors include three sons, David L. and his wife Peggy Branson of Linn, Daniel K. and his wife Mary Ann Branson of Morrison, and Allen P. Branson of Linn; three brothers, Ralph Herndon of the state of California, William and his wife Wilma Herndon of Butler, Mo., and Robert and his wife Joyce Herndon of Linn; one sister, Ruth Lyon and her husband John of Linn; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by four brothers, five sisters, and one granddaughter, Heather Branson. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2010 at Morton Chapel in Linn. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Oklahoma Church of Christ with Don King and Mark Gregor officiating. Interment will follow in the Oklahoma Church Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Oklahoma Church of Christ, the American Cancer Society, or to the American Heart Association.
