Hazel Ann Poepsel, 94, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at St. Joseph Home. She was born on November 21, 1915, in Stanhope, Mo., the daughter of the late Charles LeRoy and Lola Jane Potter White. She was married on April 22, 1941, in Jefferson City to John Francis Poepsel who died on October 6, 2005. A graduate of Jefferson City High School, Mrs. Poepsel was employed as a cashier with Kroger Grocery Company in Jefferson City, and later as Director of the School Lunch Program at St. Joseph Cathedral School for 26 years. She was a member of the Cathedral of Saint Joseph. Survivors include three sons, John C. (Sherry) Poepsel, Jefferson City; James (Margaret) Poepsel, Tyler, Texas; and Joseph (Mary) Poepsel, Columbia, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Kuebler, Lexington, N.C. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clifford White, Bill White, and Bob White; and one sister, Gladys Hill. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2010, at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph with the Rev. Benjamin E. Nwosu and the Rev. Dennis J. Meyer, M.S. officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Saint Joseph Cathedral School, 2303 W.
