Raymond "Ray" L. Moore, 87, of Hartsburg, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010, at his daughter's home in Archie, Missouri. Ray was born October 15, 1922, in Marshall, Missouri, the son of Raymond P. and Ida D. (Moody) Moore. He was a graduate of Marshall High School in Marshall, Missouri, and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Kansas. On December 29, 1947, he was united in marriage in Lexington, Missouri, to Mary Ford, who preceded him in death on December 8, 2008. Ray was a Purchasing Agent for Kansas City, Missouri, from 1968-1974, and for the State of Missouri from 1974-1981. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, and served in the Pacific in World War II from 1942-1946. He is survived by a daughter: Patty Leavell and beloved son-in-law Kevin of Archie, Missouri; a son: Ronald Moore of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son: Christopher Moore in 1981. Entombment services with full military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at the Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum with Roger Obermeier officiating. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Heartland Hospice, 612 West Fort Scott, Butler, Missouri 64730.
