Sandra Lee Loethen, 64, of Springfield, formerly of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2009, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. She was born March 19, 1945, in Jefferson City, a daughter of the late James W. and Mary (Rodgers) Loethen. She attended Jefferson City Public Schools. Sandra was a Supervisor at the Missouri Department of Revenue, and also had worked as an assembler at Maytag and a school bus driver for First Student Bus Service. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, and being with her family. Sandra is survived by a daughter: Mary Koestner of Jefferson City; a grandson: Michael Wayne Koestner of Jefferson City; four sisters: Becky Loethen of Lakewood, Kan., Shirley Corrigan of Jefferson City, Camille McGraw of Jonesboro, Ark., and Kay Loethen of Caruthersville; three brothers: Jimmy Loethen of Ft. Meyers, Fla., Bill Loethen of Springfield, and Sam Loethen of Springfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons: Michael Allen Koestner in 1984 and Rodney Dwayne Koestner in 2002; and one sister: Constance Loethen. Friends will be received from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Interment will be held for the family at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
