Sara Burris

Ms. Sara L. Burris, age 52 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at the Capital Region Medical Center. She was born April 21, 1958, in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of John D. and Edith R. Bess Burris. A life long resident of the central Missouri area, Sara graduated from Jefferson City High School and Lincoln University. She was employed as a driver with FedEX until illness forced her retirement. Sara was a talented artist who painted beautiful portraits. Survivors include: three sons, Lee Emory Bull and his wife Angela of Jefferson City, Mo., James L. Martin and his wife Tanya of Ft. Knox, Kentucky, and Michael A. Martin of Jefferson City, Mo.; two brothers, James F. Burris and his wife Linda of Jefferson City, Mo. and John D. Burris, II and his wife Connie of Columbia, Mo.; two sisters, Katherine Lockwood and her husband Michael of Kirksville, Mo. and Victoria McCoy and her husband Rod of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; and one grandson, Lukie Bull. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 31, 2010. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Freeman Chapel. Interment will be at the Portland Cemetery, Portland, Mo.
