Mr. Harold C. Asher, age 82 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Monday, December 20, 2010, at Capital Region Medical Center. Harold was born November 13, 1928, in Salem, Mo., a son of Clyde G. and Mildred V. Hayes Asher. He was married on July 3, 1975, in Las Vegas, Nev., to Patsy R. Huot. He graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School, Cape Girardeau, Mo., and the Jefferson City Junior College. Harold served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed with Home Savings Bank from 1962 until his retirement as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors in 1993. He was a current member of Board of Directors of Home Savings Bank. Harold was a member of Central United Church of Christ. Throughout his life he was dedicated to his family, his friends, and his community. He served on numerous boards, committees, and gave of his time and talents to many civic organizations. He was a hard worker that was committed to always doing his best. He loved spending time with his family and friends and relaxing at the Lake of the Ozarks. Survivors include: his wife, Patsy Asher; four children, Debbie Mullally and her husband Kevin of Jefferson City, Mo., Steve Asher and his wife Linda of Holts Summit, Mo., Renee Hendrickson and her husband Scott of Jefferson City, Mo., and Amy Wilson and her husband Mike of Jefferson City, Mo.; one sister, Virginia Haar of Jefferson City, Mo.; two brothers, William Asher of Vienna, Mo. and Robert Asher of Orlando, Fla.; and eight grandchildren, Ashley Vincent, Erin Mullally, Megan Asher, Megan Hendrickson, Jarrod Hendrickson, Connor Hendrickson, Madeline Wilson and Caroline Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Jeremy Holland. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 22, 2010. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, December 23, 2010, at the Central United Church of Christ with the Reverend Dr. Stephen Buchholz officiating. Interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Those desiring to make memorial contributions may do so to the Boy Scouts of America or the Central United Church of Christ.
