Loretta Mary Schwartz, 96, of Westphalia, formerly of Folk, died Monday, December 13, 2010, at Westphalia Hills. She was born on February 7, 1914, in Folk, Mo., the daughter of the late William and Louise Heckemeyer Massman. She was united in marriage on June 16, 1936, in Folk, Mo., to Anton Schwartz who preceded her in death on October 1, 1989. A homemaker all her life, Loretta was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Folk and Ladies Sodality. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting. Loretta especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include: four children, Walter Schwartz, Argyle; Jerome (Agnes) Schwartz, Westphalia; Joan (Walter) Berhorst, Westphalia; David (Mary) Schwartz, Westphalia; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Sabina Plassmeyer, Westphalia; and one son-in-law, William Temmen, Westphalia. She was preceded in death by one son, James Schwartz; one daughter, Irene Temmen; one brother, Alphonse Massman; and one daughter-in-law, Teresa Schwartz. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Folk, with the Rev. Mark S. Smith officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Cemetery, Folk. Visitation will be 4:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Folk, with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the wishes of the family.
