Sidney Johnsey

Sidney W. "Bobbie" Johnsey, age 96, of Eldon, died Sunday, December 5, 2010, in Eldon. She was born April 1, 1914, in Kaiser, the daughter of Sidney Worth Cardwell and Melinda (Snellen) Cardwell. She was married on April 3, 1931, to Eulis Burnett "Bert" Roark, who preceded her in death on March 16, 1961. She was then married on September 10, 1965, to William F. Johnsey, who preceded her in death on March 1, 1989. She was a waitress and was employed with Tweedie Shoe Factory. Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Billy G. and Betty Roark of Olean; one daughter and son-in-law, Grace M. and Richard Goodman of Jefferson City; one step-daughter, Sandra G. Johnsey of Chandler, Ariz.; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Cindy R. and Steve Sweeten of Lohman; one grandson, John K. Goodman of Fairway, Kan.; three great-grandchildren, Hannah R. Hammann and her husband Stacy of St. Mary, Ga., Amanda K. Hammann and her husband Scott of Russellville, and John Sweeten and his wife Beth of Lohman; four great-great-grandchildren, Kamryn Sweeten, Zane Sweeten, Katie Grace Hammann, and Aaron Hammann; one sister, Wilma Hazelbaker of Des Moines, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Velma Smith, Sofa Phelps, Ofa Fischer, Susie Dietrich, and Nellie Brummet; and two brothers, Cleet Cardwell and Earl Cardwell. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 8, at the Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Funeral services will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. with Brother Ryan Stiffler officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Jefferson City.
