Mrs. Rita Agnes Eldringhoff, 90, of Hermann, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010, at Frene Valley Health Center in Hermann. Mrs. Eldringhoff was born at Starkenburg, on July 16, 1920, the daughter of the late Henry and Catherine (Pottebaum) Elsenraat. She was the widow of Verus Eldringhoff Sr. They were married April 15, 1941, at Rhineland. Verus passed away October 7, 1994. She was a member of St. Paul's Church in Berger, St. Paul's Ladies Sodality and St. George Church in Hermann. She worked as a general laborer at the Langenberg Cap Factory in Berger and was also a homemaker. Rita is survived by five children: daughter, Judy Keller of Jefferson City, daughter, Claire Wilding and husband Floyd of St. Louis, daughter, Vera Hall and husband John of Pharr, Texas, daughter, Janet Stritzel and husband Pat of Nixa, son, Verus Eldringhoff Jr. and wife, Beth of Berger, and a daughter, Donna Joerling and friend David Livingston of Washington; two sisters-in-law, Mary Elsenraat of Hermann and Mildred Kosulic of Somonauk, Ill. and by 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Paul, Tony, Vincent and Marcellus; and four sisters, Stella, Annie, Lucille and Laura. She was also preceded by three grandchildren, Timothy Ronald Eldringhoff, Debbie Wilding, and Christopher Dean LaBoube; and one great-grandson Michael John Keller. Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, December 7, at St. George Church in Hermann at 11:00 a.m., with Father Bill Debo officiating. Interment will be at St. Paul's Cemetery in Berger. Family request donations to Masses, St. Paul's Cemetery or Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer, c/o Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home.
