Betty Jean Pilas

Betty Jean Pilas, 75, of St. Robert, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010, in her home. She was born May 10, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late Julius Pelikan and Pansy Potter (Daniels). As a young girl, Betty attended the Salem Lutheran Church School and graduated from Cleveland High School. On August 1, 1953, Betty married the love of her life, Louis M. Pilas in St. Louis. They shared over 57 wonderful years of marriage together and were blessed with three daughters: Linda, Debbie and Susan. Betty was a hardworking woman and took great pride in taking care of her family. She was employed for many years as an Insurance Consultant for Saint Johns Clinic (formerly known as Sisters of Mercy). In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and being outdoors working in her garden. Most importantly, she cherished those times spent with her family, especially the grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved her. Betty leaves to cherish her memory her husband: Louis Pilas of Rolla, Mo.; three daughters: Linda Jenkins (Sam) of Lawrenceville, Ga., Debbie Tedeschi (Lou) of Hartsburg, Mo. and Susan Smith (Richard) of Springfield, Ga.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Pelikan. Private family services will be held at a later date.
