Vincent H. Reinkemeyer, age 79, of Meta, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at his home. He was born in Argyle on January 2, 1931, son of the late William P. and Anna (Hilke) Reinkemeyer. On June 16, 1956, in Argyle, Vincent married Mary Jane Luebbert, who survives at the home. Vince served in the Navy during the Korean War. After that he worked many years as a truck driver for Empire Gas Company and Great Central Lumber Company. During retirement, he enjoyed working part-time for Carroll Rehma and Riley Chevrolet. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2149, American Legion Post 0519, and St. Cecilia Catholic Church. In his past time he loved to read and work on word puzzles. He was very dedicated to the Missouri Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed taking Mary Jane's babysitting kids for walks with him to get the mail. On Saturdays while Mary Jane was grocery shopping he could be found waiting on a bench outside McDonald's inside Wal-Mart. They would always love to go out to eat with family and friends. He also loved to scratch lottery tickets even though he never won much. During the summer months he and Mary Jane loved to go camping. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and will be missed by many other loved ones. He is also survived by two sons, Mark Reinkemeyer and wife Cathy of St. Elizabeth and Gregory Reinkemeyer and wife Tammy of Hartsburg; two daughters, Pam Otto and husband Mike of Marshall and Lisa Garvey of Jefferson City; nine grandchildren, Emily Doerhoff, Derek Reinkemeyer, Ashley Reinkemeyer, Aron Otto, Ryan Otto, Chelsea Otto, Brent Garvey, Brittany Garvey, and Tyler Reinkemeyer; three great-grandchildren, Avery Doerhoff, Braxton Otto, and Jordan Garvey; two sisters, Delores Gayle of Portland, Ore. and Laura "Lolly" Knight of Richland, Wash.; one brother, Freddie Reinkemeyer and wife Betty of Brazito; and two sisters-in-law, Rosella Reinkemeyer of St. Thomas and Rita Reinkemeyer of Jefferson City. He was also preceded in death by one son, Brad Reinkemeyer; two sisters, Helen Schaefer and Hootie Owens; and two brothers, Clarence Reinkemeyer and Jim Reinkemeyer. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2010, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta. Rev. Mark Porterfield will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery in Meta. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Cecilia Catholic Church or to Hospice Compassus.
