Archie Derryberry

Archie Wayne Derryberry, age 90, of Westphalia, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010, at Capital Region Hospital in Jefferson City. Wayne was born March 4, 1920, in Cedar Grove, the son of Eli and Laura Woodward Derryberry. He married Delma Hodges on June 10, 1939, in Salem and she preceded him in death. He retired from the University of Missouri Athletic Department. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Survivors include his three daughters, Dollie Robey and husband Jack of Silex, Doris Hinderliter and husband Allen of Pueblo, Colo., and Della Baumgartner and husband Richard of Jefferson City; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two brothers. Services will be held Monday, December 6, at 11 a.m. at Robinson Funeral Home, with burial following in Woodcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested Woodcrest Cemetery in care of the family.
