Jeanne Pearson

Jeanne Adeline Pearson, 86, of Guntersville, Ala., died Thursday, November 18, 2010, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, following an accident at her home. She was born November 23, 1923, in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of Col. and Mrs. C.H. Engelbrecht. She graduated in 1941, from Nevada High School and attended Cottey College, Florida State University and San Jose State University. Throughout her life she was active in civic, church and social organizations. While a resident of Guntersville, Ala., she served as the Queen of the Red Hats group at the Terrace Lakes Apartments. In Topeka, Kan., she was an active member of the Sweet Adelines and the Topeka Zoo Docents. In Jefferson City, she was a member of the First Christian Church, which her grandfather helped construct, and she was a founding member of the Community Christian Church. In Sacramento, Calif., she served as president of the Pioneer Tower residents organization for many years. She is survived by two daughters, Ginger Lee and her husband Vern Banta and Patricia Jean and her husband Dennis Rainey; four grandchildren, Rick Moore, Keith Randolph Moore, Suzi Dotson-Neves and Krysti Franklin; 11 great-grandchildren were her special angels, Aspen Lynn, Kaitlyn Elizabeth, Jack Merlin, Avery Claire, Madeline Elizabeth, Mason Piper, Vanessa Marie, Nicholas Pearson, Jacob Kyle, Grace Jeanette, and Cristiano Duarte. According to her wishes, her body was cremated. Private family services will be held, with a memorial in the Columbarium at Jefferson City Community Christian Church.
