Frances Mary Van Loo, 93, of Wardsville, died Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at St. Mary's Health Center. She was born on May 20, 1917, in Jefferson City, to the late Joseph and Rose Braun Sommers. She was united in marriage on October 26, 1938, in Wardsville, to Clement Peter Van Loo, who preceded her in death on June 12, 1973. A homemaker all her life, in her earlier years she worked for Oberman Clothing Co. Frances was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Ladies Sodality, and the Over 50 Club. She enjoyed embroidery, baling hay, playing cards, bingo, and dominos, and watching NFL football. Survivors include: five children, Paul (Margie) Van Loo, Wardsville, Agnes (Tom) Grothoff, Taos, Jerome "Pooch" Van Loo, Columbia, Bill (Judy) Van Loo, Jefferson City, and Clete Van Loo, Wardsville; eight grandchildren, Kelly Lueckenotte, Ted Van Loo, Michelle Mueller, Jennifer Bruns, Kim Gross, Cory Van Loo, Lindsay Van Loo, Ashley Van Loo; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Alfred Sommers, Fulton. She was preceded in death by an infant son, John; a daughter, Anna Marie Van Loo; one sister, Augusta Rackers; and two brothers, Jerome and Vincent Sommers. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Friday, August 27, 2010, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Wardsville, with the Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik officiating. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:30-8 p.m. Thursday at the church with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Additional visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the St. Stanislaus School Foundation, 6410 Route W, Jefferson City, MO 65101. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
