Mrs. Madeline Mary Doehla Thompson, 89, Orange, Park, Fla., formerly of Jefferson City, Mo., died Tuesday, August 17, 2010, in Orange Park, Florida. Madeline was born on February 7, 1921, in Jefferson City, Mo. to Helen and Harry Doehla. She was the widow of Willard G. Thompson and has three sisters: Betty Nutter, Virginia Lutz and Dorothy Kemper (deceased). She is survived by her son, Kevin Thompson and daughter-in-law Kim Thompson of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter, Pamela Schmid of League City, Texas; granddaughters, Jennifer Minnich, Christine Thompson, Amanda Schmid and grandson, Ian Schmid. Madeline attended the Immaculate Conception grade school and St. Peters High School in Jefferson City. Soon after high school graduation, she moved to St. Louis and then on to Miami, Fla., where she married and began a family. In 1991, she returned to her hometown of Jefferson City, where she happily lived until the fall of 2009, when she returned to Florida to be near her son and daughter-in-law. Madeline enjoyed charity work, watching football on television and attending church at the Assembly of God in Jefferson City. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 21, 2010, at Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery, 2315 Sandridge Rd., Green Cove Springs, FL 32043. (904) 284-7720.
