Gerald Douglas Davis, 69, of Jefferson City, died Monday, August 16, 2010, at his home. He was born August 11, 1941, in Meadowbrook, Illinois. On March 4, 1978, Gerald was united in marriage in Jefferson City to Mary Rose Siebeneck, who preceded him in death on February 17, 2000. Gerald served in the United States Marine Corps from 1964 to 1968, serving in Vietnam and attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a baker, working for his parents at Southside Pastry in Jefferson City before working at Nowell's in Columbia until disabilities forced his retirement. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Roy Sone Post 1003 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693. Gerald is survived by four sisters: Shirley Sheets (B) of Clarksburg, Martha Newman (Richard), Mary Case (Gary) and Rose Owens (Larry), all of Jefferson City; two brothers: Wayne Davis of Foley, Larry Davis of Independence; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was also preceded in death by three children: Stacy Lynn Davis on December 28, 1979, Barbara Ann Davis on January 23, 1981, Gerald Douglas Davis Jr. on January 5, 1983; his father, Morris F. Davis on March 7, 1980; his mother, Mildred M. (Baldwin) Bellefeuille on April 26, 2008; his stepfather, Richard D. Bellefeuille in October 2001; grandparents: Leonard and Grace Baldwin, George and Mettie Davis; and a brother, Daniel L. Davis. Friends will be received from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 20, 2010, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Interment with full military honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
