Donald Archer Sr.

Donald Glenn Archer Sr., 60, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, August 14, 2010, at his home. He was born September 30, 1949, in Hamilton, Missouri, a son of Thurman Mack and Helen Margaret (Thomas) Archer, both deceased. On December 6, 1966, in Mexico, Missouri, Donald was united in marriage to Judith Harris, who survives at their home. Donald worked as an aide at the Fulton State Hospital in the 1980's before becoming disabled. He enjoyed fishing, chatting with friends online, playing with his dog Hondo, and spending time with his grandchildren. Other survivors include three sons: Donald Archer Jr. and wife Brenda of Jefferson City, Troy Archer and wife Angela of Holts Summit, and Jessie Archer of Columbia; seven grandchildren: Corey Archer, Jacob Archer, Hope Archer, Sarah Sears, Hannah Sears, Kyle Sears, Jesse Archer Jr.; one aunt: Margaret Thomas of Brookfield; one sister: Linda Archer; and one brother: Tony Archer. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Archer; and an infant sister, Suzie Archer. Friends will be received from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
