Edward Kuhlmann Jr. (Veteran)

Mr. Edward F. Kuhlmann Jr., age 59 years, of Holts Summit, Mo., died Friday, August 13, 2010, at St. Joseph's Home. Ed was born September 3, 1950, in Washington, Mo., the son of Edward F. Sr. and Doris N. Dysart Kuhlmann. He was married on June 5, 1971, in Fenton, Mo., to Rhonda K. Gahr. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Ed was a 1968 graduate of Washington High School, Washington, Mo., a 1970 graduate of Jefferson Junior College, Hillsboro, Mo., and a 1978 graduate of the University of Missouri at Rolla, Mo. He served in the Missouri Army National Guard from 1970 until 1976. Ed was employed with the Missouri Dept. of Conservation for 27 years prior to his retirement as a Project Engineer in April 2006. He was employed as a Civil Engineer at the Callaway Nuclear Plant from January, 2007 until July, 2008. He was a member and elder at Capital City Christian Church. Ed enjoyed crappie fishing, bow hunting, deer and turkey hunting. He was involved with the Boy Scouts and mentored many boys in turkey and deer hunts. Ed enjoyed picking blackberries and hunting mushrooms on his farm in Callaway County. Survivors include: his loving wife of 39 years, Rhonda Kuhlmann; one son, Christopher A. Kuhlmann of Columbia, Mo.; his mother, Doris Kuhlmann of Washington, Mo.; one brother, David Kuhlmann and his wife Sue of Washington, Mo.; three sisters, Linda Davis and her husband Scott of Kanopolis, Kan., Janet Wilson and her husband Dennis of Washington, Mo., and Shirley Crouse of Thornton, Colo. He was preceded in death by his father, and one son, Jeffrey Kuhlmann, on June 24, 2006. Visitation will be at Capital City Christian Church from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at the Capital City Christian Church with Pastor Gary Baker and Pastor Don Fankhauser officiating. Interment will be at the Middle River Cemetery near Mokane, Mo. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Capital City Christian Church Building Fund or the Ellis-Fischel Cancer Center.
