Margaret Wylde

Margaret Helen Blevins Wylde, 91, of Kingsport, Tenn. died Monday, August 2, 2010, in Tenn. She was born on February 6, 1919, to Jesse J. and Marie Blevins in Manhattan, Kan. Margaret graduated from Kansas State College, Manhattan, in 1940, with a B.S. degree in Industrial Chemistry. She was employed as a research chemist at the University of Missouri, and later as control laboratory manager at manufacturing chemists Baird and McGuire, in St. Louis. She taught high school math and science for many years in New Bloomfield, Linn, and Jefferson City. She was a 30-year member of Guthrie Service Club and was a 20-year secretary for the New Bloomfield Rural Fire Association. Survivors include: her husband of 68 years, Rodney Wylde; two sons, Richard Wylde and wife, Cecilia, of New Bloomfield, and Edward Wylde and wife, Donna, of Lexington, N.C.; two daughters, Elizabeth Wylde Boyle and husband, Greg of Willow Springs, and Mary Wylde Fabick and husband, Doug of Kingsport; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. No services are scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Preston Hills Presbyterian Church, 4701 Orebank Road, Kingsport, TN 37664.
