Adelene E. Hemeyer, age 81, of rural Morrison, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. Adelene was born July 10, 1928, in Hope, a daughter of the late Edward and Amanda (Schollmeyer) Koch. She attended the Hope and Mud Creek Schools. On April 28, 1951, she was united in marriage to Melvin H. Hemeyer. He survives of the home. Adelene was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel Salem Presbyterian Church and the Salem Hope Presbyterian Women's Association. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband: Melvin; one son: David M. Hemeyer and his wife Barbara of Jefferson City; two daughters: Darlene Koetting and her husband Eugene of Jefferson City, and Imogene Latimer and her husband Kenny from Hunnewell; five grandchildren: Jennifer, Eric, Danielle, Amanda and Kirby; two great-grandchildren: Layla and Ella; nieces, nephews, and friends. Adelene was preceded in death by one sister: Adel Herron; and two brothers: Clarence Koch and an infant brother. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 30, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, at Bethel Salem Presbyterian Church with her nephew, Rev. Alan Koch officating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Bethel Salem Presbyterian Church Cemetery or to the Alzheimer's Association.
