Mrs. Viola F. Hilgert, age 82 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at St. Mary's Health Center. Viola was born March 30, 1928, in Useful, Mo., the daughter of Oscar J. and Marie S. Wehmeyer Sander. She was married on November 2, 1946, in Jefferson City, Mo., to Adrain L. "Monk" Hilgert, who preceded her in death on September 28, 2006. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Viola attended school in Freedom, Mo. and graduated from Trinity Lutheran School. A homemaker, Viola had been employed as a lunch room hostess at Southwest Elementary School for several years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Charter Life Member of the Auxiliary of the Veteran of Foreign Wars, Wyman Basinger Post 35. Survivors include: one son, Glenn Dale Hilgert and his wife Kathy of Holts Summit, Mo.; two daughters, Lola Jean Rolsing and her husband Rick of Holts Summit, Mo. and Leah Ann "Anner" Hilgert of Holts Summit, Mo.; three sisters, Evelyn Points of Lebanon, Mo., Grace Scott of Jefferson City, Mo., and Margaret Wachter of Warsaw, Mo.; one brother, George Sander and his wife Virgi of Jasper, Texas; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Helen Sander, who died in infancy. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 24, 2010, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend John Hobratschk officiating. Interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Calvary Lutheran High School or the charity of their choice.
