Gary Wayne Goosman, 69, of Roswell, Ga., died on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at his home. Born January 10, 1941, to Fred and Otilia Goosman in Wichita, Kansas, Gary was a 1972 graduate of the University of Arkansas and a long-time resident of Roswell, Georgia. Gary's 30 year career with Cabot Corporation took him and his family many places in the United States, allowing him to make friends in many places throughout the country. Gary was a dedicated member of the Church of the Savior, serving as the Moderator for the Congregation for many years, as well as a board member of Touch the Future, Inc. and a riding member of the Killer Creek Harley Owner's Group. Gary was a gentle, kind and giving man - counsellor to many and loved by one and all. Gary is survived by his wife, Darlene; his three children, Kristy and Todd Hughes, David and Julie Goosman and Eric and Meg Goosman; six grandchildren and his two sisters, Janis Watson and Penny McNulty. Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Kohout earlier this year. A memorial service will be held at 10:55 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, at Church of the Savior, 1950 Old Alabama Road, Roswell, GA 30076. The family requests that in lieu of flowers please make donations in support of Gary's work at the Church of the Savior, and direct donations to the Church of the Savior Memorial Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Byars Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Cummings, Ga.
