Margaret Eikermann

Mrs. Margaret Jane Eikermann, age 75 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Friday, April 16, 2010, at the Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility. Mrs. Eikermann was born on September 20, 1934, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Alvin James and Isabel Margaret Burr Entringer. Jane graduated from Heelan High School in Sioux City and received a BA in Art Studies from the University of Iowa. She later completed studies to work as an x-ray technologist. She worked at St. Vincent's Hospital in Sioux City and later at hospitals in Dallas and South Dakota as an x-ray technician. A resident of the central Missouri area for the past 45 years, Jane worked at Immaculate Conception Grade School as an art teacher and later as an x-ray technician at St. Mary's Health Center. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and also served as den mother to her son's Cub Scout pack. Jane enjoyed antiques, gardening, and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball games. Survivors include: two sons, Erik Eikermann of Jefferson City, Mo. and Karl Eikermann and his wife Amy of Lakewood, Colo.; one daughter, Kristin Kayser and her husband Dr. Richard Kayser of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, Roger Entringer of Albuquerque, N.M.; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Church with the Reverend Patrick Dolan officiating. Visitation will be held immediately before the memorial service at Immaculate Conception Church from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
