Norma Armstrong

Norma Lee Howell Brown Armstrong, 84, of Jefferson City, formerly of Nevada, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at Heisinger Bluffs in Jefferson City. She was born December 31, 1925, in Clinton, to James Howell and Mabel Gray. Norma lived her early years in Nevada, and was a 1943 graduate of Nevada High School. She was married to Delton V. Armstrong on January 3, 1944, who preceded her in death on July 13, 2008. Norma was a homemaker for most of her life, but her early occupations included working for Farm and Home Savings and Loan in Nevada, for the Missouri House of Representatives, and co-owner of The Framemaker. Norma enjoyed antiquing, crafts, and spending time with her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Survivors include four sons: Lane Armstrong and his wife Lynne Kay of Lake Ozark, Lynn Armstrong and his wife Carla of Jefferson City, Lance Armstrong and his wife Marcella of Jefferson City, and Brad Armstrong of Jefferson City; six grandchildren: Jason Armstrong of Lake Ozark, Claire Armstrong of Columbia, Chloe Armstrong, and Carrie Wilburn of Jefferson City, Alicia Armstrong of Springfield, and Jill Allen of St. Louis; five great-grandchildren: Kyle Wilburn, Justin Wilburn, Alex Wilburn, and Sarah Wilburn, all of Jefferson City, and Jackson Allen of St. Louis; and one sister: Joye Maple of Independence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor David Rorabaugh officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery in Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service, and the family will receive friends between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
