Naomi Kenney

Mrs. Naomi Kenney, age 49 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at her home. Naomi was born February 11, 1961, in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of Charles D. and Kazuko Takabayashi Zimmerman. She was married on November 21, 1997, in Jefferson City, Mo., to Gregg A. Kenney. Naomi was a 1979 graduate of Jefferson City High School and a 1983 graduate of Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, Mo., with a degree in political science. She was a homemaker but previously employed with the Child Support Division of the Missouri Dept. of Social Services for 12 years. Naomi was a member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed all animals especially dogs, but most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. Survivors include: her husband, Gregg Kenney; two daughters, Kimberly Baum and Amy Baum, both of the home; one son, Dylan Kenney of the home; one sister, Asami Bartlow of Shawnee, Kan.; her mother, Kazuko Zimmerman of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, Bill Zimmerman of Jefferson City, Mo.; four aunts, Utako Takiguchi and her husband Mitumasa, Shizuko Kitamura and her husband Mamoru, Mieko Takabayashi, and Junko Takabayashi all of Japan; and three nephews, Matthew Bartlow of Shawnee, Kan., Sinichi Takiguchi and Makoto Takiguchi, both of Japan. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles D. Zimmerman, and one brother, Kim David Zimmerman. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2010, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Doyle Sager officiating. Interment will be at Longview Cemetery. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to First Baptist Church Youth Missions.
