James Sapp

James Henry Sapp, 83, of Ashland, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010, at the University Hospital and Clinics. Henry was born September 23, 1926, in Boone County, the son of Roy and Reba Pearl Thomas Sapp. He married Barbara L. Rice on February 11, 1956, in Ashland. He retired as a mail carrier with the United Postal Service, and also drove the school bus. Henry was a farmer all of his life, and was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife: Barbara of Ashland; two sons: Darrell Sapp, and Jim Sapp, both of Ashland; one daughter: Brenda Forbis and her husband James of Ashland; one sister: Faye Lewis and her husband Bobby of Ashland; four grandchildren: Jeanne Sjostrand and her husband Brian, Alex Forbis, Samantha Sapp, and Emily Forbis; three great-grandchildren: Rebecca Sjostrand, Nicole Sjostrand, and Ashley Sjostrand; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 12, at the Robinson Funeral Home, Ashland. Burial will follow in the New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 2010, at the funeral home. Memorials contributions are suggested to the Kidney Association.
