Vincel Ray Allee, 80, of Versailles, departed this life Friday, April 2, 2010, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. Vincel was born March 25, 1930, in rural Moniteau County, the son of Ray S. and Flossie M. (Decker) Allee. On April 18, 1957, he was united in marriage to Anita Lorene Gatson. They are the parents of two daughters. He professed salvation and joined Hopewell Baptist Church, when he was 14 years old. At his death, he was a member and deacon emeritus at Trinity Southern Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Lorine Allee Masters. He is survived by his wife; two daughters and their spouses: Vinita and Sam Henry of St. Charles, Diann and Tim Prescott of St. Louis; four granddaughters, and one grandson: Amanda, Emily and Elizabeth Henry of St. Charles, Erik and Molly Prescott of St. Louis; one brother: Dean Allee; one aunt: Rosalie Allee Lehman; and other relatives. Vincel attended one-room schools in Moniteau County and graduated from Eldon High School in 1948. He graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia, with his Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Education in 1955, his Master's degree in Elementary Administration in 1961, and his Superintendent's Certificate in Public Schools in 1964. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954. He taught vocational agriculture (1955-1961) and served as Director of Elementary Education and Assistant Superintendent at the Van-Far School district (1961-1968). He moved to Versailles in 1968 and served as Superintendent of Schools at Morgan County R-II School District until his retirement in 1985. After retirement, he served as Mid-Mo Ambulance District Administrator and Eastern District County Commissioner. Vincel enjoyed farming, gardening, raising animals, genealogy and church activities. He served one term as moderator of the Lamine Baptist Association. A celebration of his life will be held at Trinity Southern Baptist Church on April 10, at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Chad Courter officiating. A visitation with family will follow. A private burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Vincel Allee to Trinity Southern Baptist Church, 13537 Church Rd, Versailles, MO, or Hannibal LaGrange College Building Fund, 2800 Palmyra Dr., Hannibal, MO 63401.
