Keith David Dahling, 63, of Holts Summit, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2010, at Capital Region Medical Center. Keith was born July 28, 1946, in Little Port, Iowa, a son of the late Carl and Lula (Bankes) Dahling. He was a graduate of Central High School in Elkader, Iowa, and went on to graduate from the University of Northern Iowa. Keith was united in marriage in Overland Park, Kansas, on June 20, 1981, to Geraldine K. "Geri" Simmers, who survives at their home. Keith was a roofing contractor and insurance agent. He loved to play sports, travel, and ski. He was happiest spending time with his family and grandchildren. He is also survived by three daughters: Dawn McGonagill (husband Cody) of Borger, Texas, Tiffany Bolton of Holts Summit, and Amanda Dahling of Columbia; two brothers: Marvin Dahling (wife Annette) of Elkader, Iowa, Harold Dahling (wife Nadine) of Elkader, Iowa; and three grandchildren: Darren Brownlee and Kayla Brownlee of Borger, Texas, and Braden Hall of Holts Summit. Friends and family will be received from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 9, at the Slater-Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Holts Summit. Funeral services will be private for the family.
