David Lee Smith, 67, of California, passed away Friday, April 2, 2010. David was born on November 22, 1942, in Jefferson City, the son of Orval and Bernice McKee Smith, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a 1961 graduate of Jamestown High School. He worked for Borden Dairy, where he was a route manager. He also was a member of New Hope Baptist church north of Centertown. He is survived by two sons: Daryn Smith of McAllen, Texas, and Jeremy Smith of the home; three daughters: Darla Needham of San Diego, California, Dena Morris of Lubbock, Texas, and Melysa Smith of Houston, Texas; two step-sons: Israel Mireles of Mission, Texas, and David Sanchez of Mission, Texas; two step-daughters: Paula Stone of Independence, and Lisa Martin of Liberty; two brothers: Marvin Smith of Russellville, Kenny Smith of Centertown; and one sister: Beverly Pace of California; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, April 5, at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery.
