Post 5 Seniors lose two in tourney

PAPILLION, Neb. - The Jefferson City American Legion Post 5 Seniors dropped a pair of games Saturday in the Battle of Omaha.

Post 5 dropped a 7-4 decision to Papillion, Neb., to open play Saturday.

Six different players had one hit each for Post 5, which scored two runs in the fifth and sixth innings.

Papillion took the lead with four runs in the third before adding a run in the fourth and two in the fifth. Papillion had just three hits in the contest, taking advantage of six errors by Post 5.

Post 5 fell 4-0 to Post 171 from Michigan. Post 5 trailed 1-0 after two innings, 2-0 after three and 4-0 after five.

Jacob Adrian had two hits for Post 5, which had three hits in the game. Gage Bax took the loss, working 52/3 innings. He struck out three.

Post 5 (10-4) will continue play in the tournament today.
