WASHINGTON - The Jefferson City American Legion Post 5 Seniors dropped an 8-0 decision in seven innings Sunday to Washington in the semifinals of the Washington Wood Bat Tournament.
Post 5 finished with just two hits in the game - singles by Michael Skinner and Hayden Hirschvogel.
Colton Hoelscher took the loss for Post 5. He allowed four runs on three hits and five walks in five innings, while striking out five. Hirschvogel pitched the final two innings, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks. He struck out one.
Post 5 is scheduled to play in the Battle of Omaha starting Thursday.
