McCulloch captures crown in Memorial Tournament

John McCulloch captured the title Sunday in the Jefferson City Country Club Memorial Tournament.

McCulloch, from Jefferson City, added a 74 on Sunday to his opening-round 70 to finish at even-par 144.

Robert Trittler of Wentzville and Brett Allen of Columbia tied for third at 148, while Chuck Admire of Kansas City and Robert Hanneken of Waynesville finished in a tie for fifth at 149. Roger Owens of Jefferson City finished in a two-way tie for sixth at 151.

In the age 65-and-up tournament, Tom McHenry of Lake Ozark shot rounds of 69 and 77 to finish at 146 to win the title. Kent Lowry of Jefferson City was second at 154, while Michael Dallmeyer of Jefferson City finished third at 157.

Adam Pfeiffer of Quincy, Ill., took honors Sunday in the Men's Mid-Amateur Championship at Jefferson City Country Club.

Pfeiffer shot two rounds of 70 to finish at 4-under, then bested Tyler Stalker of Springfield in a playoff for the win.

Patrick Britt of St. Louis and Chris Martin of Rolla tied for third at 141, while Chad Niezing of Manchester finished fifth at 142.
