MLACC wins golf title

The team from Meadow Lake Acres Country Club captured the title Thursday in the 107th Mid-Missouri InterCity Golf Matches.

Meadow Lake finished with 1,450 points to win the four-club championship. It is Meadow Lake's first title in 13 years.

The Club at Old Hawthrone was second with 1,444 points, while Jefferson City Country Club was third with 1,402.5. Sedalia Country Club finished fourth with 1,319.5.

Local golfers earning individual awards included: Mike Farmer, JCCC; Rob Chiles, MLACC; Dan Lubbert, MLACC; George Pardalos, MLACC; and Russ Trippensee, MLACC, for Match Points Award along with Mike Dallmeyer, JCCC and Jerry Siemons for High Point Awards.

Each round consists of 13 individual matches between a player from each club along with the club's professional played on four Thursdays in May and June. The members of team MLACC for the 2017 matches were: Curtis Anderson, Rob Chiles, Lubbert, Michael Wood, Trippensee, Siemons, Steve Slaughter, Cory Buersmeyer, Brad Thielemier, Brad Nelson, Jake Harris, Brent Butler, Jason Vann, Alex Knoll, Trent Porter, George Pardalos and T.J. Ralston, along with head pro, Chris Nelson.
