Rundle wins MGA Junior Tour Championship

LAKE OZARK, Mo. - Jack Rundle of Jefferson City how the low round of the day Monday, shooting a 2-over 74 to win the Missouri Golf Association Junior Tour Championship at Osage National Golf Club.

Rundle took home the title in the boys 16-18 division, posting a two-day total of 5-over 149. Jacob Krantz of Lake Ozark was runner-up with a 151 and Evan Weaver of Marshall took third with a 155.

Jefferson City's Kyle Backes, who received the most points during the summer tour, tied for fourth with a 156, matching Rundle's 74 on day two.

Other Jefferson City golfers include Jarod Steinbeck, who tied for ninth with a 171, and Braydon Pemberton, who took 11th place with a 193.

Amber Wilson was the champion in the girls 16-18 division, taking a six-stroke lead after Sunday's first round and finishing with a 78 on Monday for a 7-over 151.

Samantha Cornelius of Hamilton was second with a 153 and Macon's Paige Hawkins took third with a 165.

Jefferson City had two golfers competing in the division. Sami Swinfard finished fifth with a 171, while Alex Nelson placed sixth with a 173.

Joseph Fallis of Columbia won the tiebreaker against Alex Gentry of Jefferson City in the boys 14-15 division. Gentry shot a 74 on Sunday to hold the first-round lead, but Fallis finished with a 73 on Monday, putting the two in a tie atop the leaderboard with an 8-over 152.

Gentry received the most points on tour this summer in the boys 14-15 division.

Christian Rischer of Columbia took third with a 153.

Other Jefferson City golfers in the division include: Cole Sappenfield, who tied for fourth with a 154; Sam Owens, who placed ninth with a 162; and Luke Distler, who finished 10th with a 163.

Kassidy Hull of Eldon won the title in the girls 14-15 division, posting an 84 in the final round to score a 36-over 180 in the two-day event.

Greta Hinds of Jefferson City and Hannah Hilker of Excello tied for second with a 191.

Golfers ages 8-13 played two nine-hole rounds Sunday and Monday to decide the Junior Tour Championship.

Zachary Krantz of Lake Ozark was the champion in the boys 12-13 division, shooting an 8-over 80.

Ian Peterson and Enoch Dunnaway, both of California, finished fifth (83) and sixth (86), respectively.

Rolla's Jonathan Jordan won the title in the boys 10-11 division, shooting a 1-under 35 on Sunday and a 5-over 41 to finish with a 76.

Archer Schnieders of Jefferson City was second with a 78 and Nick Closser of Jefferson City tied for fourth with a 95.

Sam Closser was Jefferson City's other champion, winning the boys 8-9 division with an 8-over 40.

Other Jefferson City golfers in the division include: Dawson Schnieders, third with an 84; Ty Brandt and Bryan Carden, tied for sixth with a 90; Michael Atnip, ninth with a 94; and Harper Neidert, who finished 12th with a 104.

In the girls 9-hole tournament, Audrey Rischer of Columbia won with a 3-over 75 in the two-day tournament.

Sophie Hinds of Jefferson City finished fourth with a 116.
