Two tied for lead on boys side at Missouri Junior Amateur

Brooks Jungbluth of St. Joseph and Kevin Wahle of Wildwood are tied for the lead after the opening day of the Missouri Boys Junior Amateur at Jefferson City Country Club.

Jungbluth and Wahle both shot 2-under par 70s on Monday to top the male age 16-18 division. Jonathan Bell of Jackson and Jeff Norman of Rolla are one shot back.

Nathan Erickson of Jefferson City leads area golfers after one day. He is tied for sixth after shooting a 73.

Other Jefferson City players include:

Dalton Roark, tied for 10th with a 75.

Jack Rundle, tied for 13th with a 76.

Cole Higgins, tied for 29th with an 80.

Brett Trowbridge, tied for 32nd with an 81.

Jarod Steinbeck, tied for 41st with an 83.

Michael Snyder, tied for 45th with an 84.

Braydon Pemberton, tied for 50th with an 87.

Lane Plunkett of Eugene is tied for 41st with an 83, while Tristan Bolin of Tipton is tied for 48th with an 85.

Peter Weaver of St. Louis has a four-stroke lead after the opening round in the male age 14-15 division.

Weaver fired a 3-under 69 on Monday. Dawson Meek of Ozark is second with a 73.

Jefferson City players in the tournament include:

Cole Sappenfield, Drew Higgins and Sam Owens, tied for seventh with a 79.

Luke Distler, 15th with an 83.

Alex Gentry, tied for 16th with a 85.

Michael Davidson, tied for 18th with an 89.

Austin Kempker, tied for 20th with a 90.

Owen Johnson, 22nd with a 97.

Archer Schnieders of Jefferson City shot a 69 to take the lead in the age 10-11 male division at the Oak Hills Golf Center.

Schnieders leads Jonathan Jordan of Rolla by five shots.

In the male age 12-13 division, Graham Johnson of Jefferson City shot a 78 and is five shots behind Logan Cox of Hallsville.
