Lincoln looks to snap streak vs. Central Missouri

It's been a while.

Dating back to the 1996-97 season, the Lincoln Blue Tigers have dropped 10 straight home men's basketball games to the Central Missouri Mules.

The Blue Tigers (12-5 overall, 5-3 MIAA) will look to snap that streak tonight when they host the Mules (10-5, 4-3), who have won the last 17 meetings in the series, at Jason Gym. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

Lincoln has won its last three games, including getting back-to-back MIAA road victories for the first time since the 1986-87 season, while Central Missouri is 2-3 in its last five games.

Jaylon Smith paces the Blue Tigers, averaging 22 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Anthony Virdure is next at 19.5 points to go along with 4.6 assists.

Spencer Reaves leads Central Missouri with 17.4 points per contest, followed by Kyle Wolf (11.9) and Marquiez Lawrence (10.1).

Central Missouri edged Lincoln 51-48 in their only meeting last season in Warrensburg.

The women's game between Lincoln and Central Missouri will open today's action at 5:30 p.m.

Central Missouri (13-2, 6-1) holds a 51-3 lead in the all-time series against Lincoln (2-13, 1-7). But the Blue Tigers defeated the Jennies 82-76 last season in Warrensburg.

Azaria Nave paces Lincoln at 15.3 points per game, while Hunter Yoakum is next at 14.1 while averaging 3.3 assists. Erica Gibbons totals 12 points per contest.

Paige Redmond (16.5) and Morgan Fleming (11.9) top the Jennies in scoring.
