MU falls to LSU in women's basketball

BATON ROUGE, La. - Sophie Cunningham finished with a season-high 32 points Thursday night for Missouri in its 80-71 loss to LSU in women's Southeastern Conference basketball action.

Missouri led 21-6 after one quarter and 34-31 at the half. LSU came back to take a 53-49 advantage after three quarters.

Cunningham had five 3-pointers for Missouri. Lindsey Cunningham added 16 points, while Sierra Michaelis finished with 14.

Missouri was 12-of-22 on 3-pointers in the game.

Raigyne Moncrief totaled 23 points to pace LSU (14-3, 3-1). Chloe Jackson scored 20, while Ayana Mitchell chipped in with 10 for LSU, which outrebounded Missouri 28-19.

Missouri (11-7, 1-3) is back in action Sunday at Vanderbilt. Game time is 2 p.m.
