WASHINGTON, Mo. - The seventh-seeded Helias Lady Crusaders opened play Tuesday in the Union Tournament wiht a 44-40 victory against the second-seeded Borgia Lady Knights.
Borgia held a slim lead for much of the contest. The Lady Knights led 10-8 after one quarter, 20-19 at the half and 30-29 heading into the final period before the Lady Crusaders rallied for the win.
Ashley Rehagen paced Helias with 14 points.
Helias (5-7) will take on third-seeded Sullivan in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Friday. Sullivan defeated St. Charles West 46-29 in its semifinal Tuesday.
