Boys Basketball: Calvary Lutheran 79, Bunceton 55

BUNCETON, Mo. - The Calvary Lutheran Lions won their conference opener Tuesday, beating the Bunceton Dragons 79-55 in CCAA play.

After holding a slim 17-16 advantage through one quarter, Calvary Lutheran scored 22 points in the second quarter to lead 39-27 at halftime. The Lions then poured on 27 points in the third quarter to lead 66-38 entering the fourth quarter.

Calvary Lutheran had four players score in double figures, led by Alex Flannigan with 22 points on five 3-pointers. Colin Bernskoetter finished with 18 points, Jimmie Wehmeyer had a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds and Luke Allen chipped in 13 points.

Calvary Lutheran (5-6) will host Higbee in a conference makeup game Thursday.
