Boys Basketball: St. Elizabeth 41, Jamestown 30

BUNCETON - The St. Elizabeth Hornets struggled on the offensive end in the first three quarters Thursday, but they put up 19 fourth-quarter points to rally for a 41-30 win against the Jamestown Eagles in the semifinals of the Class 1 District 9 Tournament.

The score was tied at 7 after one quarter and St. Elizabeth, the No. 3 seed, took a 16-10 lead at halftime. Jamestown outscored the Hornets 14-6 in the third quarter to take a 24-22 lead into the fourth quarter.

St. Elizabeth won the scoring battle 19-6 in the final eight minutes.

Ross Struemph finished with a game-high 19 points for St. Elizabeth, while Brady Heckemeyer scored 13 points.

Jamestown, which finished the season with an 18-9 record, was led by Trenton Barbour with 13 points. Garrett Wolfe added 11 points.

St. Elizabeth (12-14) will face top-seeded Glasgow (24-3) in the championship game at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
