BUNCETON - The St. Elizabeth Lady Hornets advanced to the Class 1 District 9 title game after beating the Pilot Grove Lady Tigers 58-43 on Wednesday.
The Lady Hornets led 15-11 after the first quarter, but trailed 26-23 at halftime. St. Elizabeth retook the lead to go up 40-32 after the third.
Brooke Struemph had her 15th double-double of the season for St. Elizabeth with 19 points and 15 rebounds.
Shanley Kliethermes had 17 points for the Lady Hornets, including going a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter, and Andrea Schaffer added 10 points.
St. Elizabeth (16-11) plays Prairie Home (19-8) at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the championship game.
