Boys Basketball: California 70, Knob Noster 47

VERSAILLES - The California Pintos blew past the Knob Noster Panthers in the second half of a 70-47 win Tuesday in the first round of the Class 3 District 13 Tournament.

California led 19-16 after one quarter, but Knob Noster battled back to tie the game at 31 at halftime.

The Pintos outscored the Panthers 15-6 in the third quarter to lead 46-37. California then won the scoring battle 24-10 in the final quarter to cruise to a 23-point victory.

Jacob Wolken was one of four players to score in double figures for the Pintos, finishing with 19 points. Wyatt Bestgen and Isaac Ash each had 15 points and Jordon Geiser chipped in 12 points.

California (10-14), the No. 4 seed in the district, will face top-seeded Boonville in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Thursday.
