Boys Basketball: Jays frosh finish season

WAYNESVILLE - The Jefferson City freshman team closed out the season Saturday with a 52-49 overtime win against Waynesville in the championship game of the Waynesville Tournament.

Asher Horton led the Jays with 15 points, Rayvon Webster scored 10, Kaidyn Johnson added nine and Brenden Truong finished with eight.

The Jays defeated Salem 66-28 last Wednesday in the first round.

Truong paced the Jays with 22 points. Brenden Hoener and Rayvon Webster added 15 points and 10 points, respectively.

In Saturday's semifinal game against St. James, Johnson scored a team-high 24 points in a 73-58 victory.

Hoener added 17 points while Horton chipped in with 11.

Jefferson City ends the season with a 14-10 record.
