Blair Oaks boys top Class 3 District 9 tourney field

Riding a five-game winning streak, including a victory against then-No. 1 Southern Boone, the Blair Oaks Falcons have earned the No. 1 seed in the Class 3 District 9 Tournament.

Blair Oaks will also serve as the host for the tournament.

The Falcons, who are ranked ninth in the latest Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Poll, got the nod ahead of Southern Boone, which is ranked second.

Father Tolton is seeded third, St. James fourth, Hermann fifth, Fatima sixth, South Callaway seventh and Dixon eighth.

The tournament will begin Feb. 21 and conclude Feb. 25.

St. James is the No. 1 seed in the girls tournament. The No. 2 ranked Tigers are 22-0 with three regular season games remaining.

The district has two other ranked teams, including No. 3 Father Tolton and No. 5 Southern Boone. The Trailblazers are the second seed while the Lady Eagles are seeded third.

Hermann, Fatima, South Callaway, Blair Oaks and Dixon are seeded fourth through eighth.

The tournament begins Feb. 20 and will conclude Feb. 24.

The Chamois Pirates are the top seed in the Class 1 District 10 Tournament, which is hosted by Madison.

Chamois is seeded fourth in the six-team girls tournament. 

Community and Madison will have a bye as the top two seeds.

In Class 1 District 9, the St. Elizabeth Lady Hornets have earned the No. 2 seed. Bunceton will be the host.

Glasgow is the top seed and will face 8-seed Tuscumbia in the first round, while the Lady Hornets will play seventh-seeded Jamestown in the first round.

Glasgow is the top seed in the boys tournament as well, with Jamestown as the No. 2 seed.

St. Elizabeth, Prairie Home, Tuscumbia, Higbee, Pilot Grove and Bunceton are seeded Nos. 3-8.
