Lady Jays softball goes 2-0 on Friday in Columbia

COLUMBIA - Jefferson City didn't get on the board until the seventh inning Friday against Southern Boone in the Hickman Kewpie Invitational, but it was all the Lady Jays needed to beat the Lady Eagles 1-0.

Gabi McGinty drove in the lone run of the game in the seventh for Jefferson City.

Mychael Jett pitched a complete-game shutout for the Lady Jays, striking out four Lady Eagles.

The Lady Jays capped off their day with a 3-2 win against Blue Springs.

Alex Gilliland had two hits and an RBI for Jefferson City.

Jett struck out three in seven innings.

Jefferson City faces Blair Oaks at 9 a.m. today to continue tournament play.
