Blair Oaks softball splits at Kewpie Invite

COLUMBIA - Blair Oaks beat Francis Howell 8-5 in the Lady Falcons' first game Friday, and lost 7-1 against Rock Bridge in the second.

Megan Mitchem started the first game and pitched four innings, giving up eight hits, four runs (three earned) and a walk with two strikeouts. Makenna Kliethermes got the win in relief, pitching the last three innings and giving up one run on hits hits, three walks with eight strikeouts. Kliethermes also had two doubles and three RBI.

Sydney Wilde had two doubles and an RBI, Hannah Schroeder had two hits, a double and an RBI, and Macyn Wilbers had a double and an RBI.

Kliethermes got the start in the second game, giving up three runs (one earned) on two hits, six walks and recording six strikeouts in five innings pitched. Mitchem pitched the last innings, giving up four runs (three earned), four hits and a walk.

Emilee Jones had two hits while Kliethermes had two hits and an RBI.

Blair Oaks (11-3) plays Jefferson City at 9 a.m. today in the Kewpie Invitational.
