Eight area players selected to Missouri Media All-State football team

A total of eight area players have been selected to the Missouri Media All-State football team.

The Jefferson City Jays had three players selected to the Class 6 squad.

Adam Huff and Dennis Barnes, both seniors, were selected to the first team. Huff was named at wide receiver, while Barnes was picked at defensive back.

Gavin Strobel, a senior, was selected to the second team at punter.

The Helias Crusaders had two players named to the Class 4 team.

Jake Burnett, a senior, was a second-team selection at linebacker. Zach Stiles, also a senior, was named as a defensive back on the second team.

The Blair Oaks Falcons placed two players on the Class 3 squad.

Cody Alexander, a senior, was named to the first team as a defensive back. Jake Van Ronzelen, a senior, was selected to the second team at running back.

The California Pintos had one player named to the Class 2 team.

Liam Schatzer, a junior, was selected to the second team at punter.

Blair Oaks was the lone area team to be in the final top 10 rankings in its class. The Falcons finished eighth in the Class 3 poll.

Three area teams received votes in the final poll. Jefferson City was the first team out of the Class 6 rankings, finishing with 18 points. Helias received two points in Class 4, while School of the Osage had 1 point in Class 3.
