Tigers receive all-conference honors

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Five Missouri players have earned All-Southeastern Conference football honors.

In voting by coaches, senior cornerback Aarion Penton was voted to the first team. He totaled five interceptions this season.

Charles Harris, a redshirt junior defenisve lineman who has announced he will enter the NFL draft, was a second-team selection. Harris finished with eight sacks and 12 tackles for loss and led conference down linemen with 61 total tackles.

On Thursday, J'Mon Moore joined Penton and Harris on the all-conference team as selected by members of the media. All three were second-team selections.

Moore led the Tigers with 62 catches for 1,012 yards and eight touchdowns this season.

The Missouri trio of wide receivers Johnathon Johnson and Dimetrios Mason and defensive back Ronnell Perkins all made the all-conference freshman team as voted on by coaches.

Johnson earned a spot on the team as both an all-purpose player and return specialist. He averaged 17.6 yards per touch and had receiving scores of 87 and 67 yards as well as a 54-yard punt return touchdown.

Mason finished second on the Tigers with 47 catches and 587 receiving yards - both records for a Missouri true freshman - and added three scores.

Perkins started four games and finished with 43 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, three pass breakups and a quarterback hurry.
