FAYETTE - Travis Burris led Central Methodist in tackles in their season-opener Saturday night.
Burris (Jefferson City High School), a sophomore linebacker, finished with 12 tackles in the Eagles' 39-14 loss to the Peru State Bobcats. Burris had six solo stops and six assisted tackles.
Malik Burnley (Jefferson City High School), a junior defensive lineman, added four assisted tackles for the Eagles and was credited with a half-sack.
