Voss wins in pro debut

TEMPE, Ariz. - Jacob Voss earned the win Friday in his professional baseball debut, leading the AZL Angels to a 7-6 walk-off win against the AZL Giants Orange.

Voss, a 2015 graduate of Linn High School, pitched two scoreless frames in the eighth and ninth innings. He faced six batters, striking out three, and allowed one hit. He also got a flyout and induced an inning-ending double play in the ninth to keep the game tied at 6.

The Angels scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth on an RBI single by Daniel Ozoria. Voss was credited with the victory.

The AZL Angels (1-4), a Rookie League affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, play the AZL Indians tonight.
